One of the most widespread applications of phosphate coating treatment is the anchorage base preparation for metal painting

The quality of painting and above all its lasting period largely depend upon metal surface characteristics and phosphate coating represents one the mostly valid treatments to increase “anchorage” properties of the metal and guarantee perfect adhesion of the primer or of the paint to its base.

Generally a zinc-calcium phosphate coating is recommended, although all phosphate coatings are considered as valid pre-paint treatments.
